January is the first month of the year in the Gregorian Calendar and one of seven Gregorian months with the length of 31 days.

January begins (astrologically) with the sun in the sign of Capricorn and ends in the sign of Aquarius. Astronomically speaking, the sun begins in the constellation of Sagittarius and ends in the constellation of Capricornus.

January is named for Janus, the Roman god of doors and gateways.*

Holiday celebrations are wonderful opportunities for children to learn about the traditions that are cherished parts of people's lives all over the world. Please remember that the stories are just a simplified version of each celebration. As a parent the choice of what holidays to celebrate is yours, but we hope that a sense of humour blended with a little knowledge will help us all make peace in this world by understanding our differences.

Monthly Preschool Theme based program with hands-on learning activities promoting visual perception, fine motor and gross motor development.
